


Nigeria’s, Senator Aliyu Wamakko representing Sokoto Central has paid a visit to his “self-sponsored” students studying at the University of Lahore, Pakistan.
The visit forms part of a sustained commitment to human capital development through education.
Wamakko has, over the years, sponsored and continues to sponsor numerous students at various higher institutions, both within Nigeria and abroad, providing them with opportunities to acquire quality education and professional skills.
The ex-governor who is presently Lawmaker, use the opportunity of the interactive session with students to shade more light on them by encouraged them to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to academic excellence.
With emphasis on the importance of education as a catalyst for personal growth and national development.
“This gesture further reflects a passion for empowering the younger generation and investing in the future of the nation through education”. They acknowledged.
The University of Lahore Pakistan has 52 Students (1st & 2nd Batch)
This is in addition to : 25 Students at Usman Danfodio University Sokoto;
63 Students at Al-Qalam University Katsina, Katsina State.
Others are 30 Students at Al-Hikma University, Ilori, Kwara State;
22 Students at Crown Hill University Ilorin, Kwara State;
17 Students at Dialoque Computer Institute Kaduna ;
45 Students at Lead City University Ibadan, Oyo State;
54 Students (Masters & PhD) at Nigeria Defence Academy, Kaduna;
15 Students at National Water Resources Institute Mando, Kaduna;
80 Students at BIGA College of Education Sokoto
30 Students at Huda University Gusau, Zamfara State and;
57 Students at Maryam Abacha American University Maradi, Niger Republic.
While other students are in U.K, Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), Cyprus, Malaysia, Bangladesh and Nyamai (N.R)
