At least 150 suspected bandits reportedly drowned following a boat accident in the Sabon Gida area of Sokoto State on Saturday evening. The incident occurred when a boat carrying a large number of armed men capsized while attempting to cross a water body in the area, according to security analyst Zagazola Makama.
Many of the passengers were unable to swim, leading to the high casualty count. Initial reports suggest no survivors, but authorities haven’t officially confirmed the incident.
