The All Progressives Congress (APC) has returned Nentawe Yilwatda as its National Chairman and Surajudeen Basiru as National Secretary at its 4th Elective National Convention held in Abuja.
The duo emerged through a consensus arrangement, with their appointments announced by the convention’s election committee alongside other party officials.
The high-profile gathering, which took place at Eagle Square, was attended by top government officials, including President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas.
The convention, themed “Unity in Progress: Consolidating the Renewed Hope Agenda,” was organised by a planning committee led by former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim.
Party officials said the exercise reflects the APC’s commitment to internal democracy and unity as it seeks to strengthen its leadership structure ahead of future political engagements.
Further details on other positions and resolutions from the convention are expected to be released.
