
A resignation letter signed by party officials has sparked controversy in Nigeria’s politics, revealing that Hon. Nafiu Bala resigned as Deputy National Chairman (Government & Legislation) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in 2025.
Meanwhile, the letter, submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), confirms his resignation was duly accepted.
However, Nafiu Bala is now leading a faction opposing David Mark’s leadership, amidst INEC’s recent changes affecting the party’s leadership.
The commission’s actions have intensified the internal power struggle, with various factions vying for control. In swift reaction, a Political analysts question Bala’s legitimacy and motives, given his previous resignation.
