Residents in Kaduna took to the streets on Tuesday to protest the rearrest of Nasir El-Rufai, following the postponement of his bail hearing by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The demonstrators carried placards calling for the immediate release of El-Rufai, expressing their support for the former governor and concerns over what they perceive as preferential treatment in the legal process.
The protesters marched through major streets in Kaduna, chanting slogans in support of the former governor.
The ICPC had temporarily released El-Rufai last Friday to attend his mother’s funeral but took him back into custody when the court postponed his bail hearing.
