Kazaure is still reeling from a horrific incident where a young man, Kabiru, allegedly set his father, Nuhu Bakanike, on fire. The attack happened on April 1, 2026, when Nuhu, a retired Director with Jigawa State Environmental and Sanitation Protection Agency (JISEPA), was returning from morning prayers. Kabiru, who was hiding in a toilet, poured petrol on his father and set him ablaze. Nuhu suffered severe burns and was transferred to AKTH for treatment, but sadly passed away.
Kabiru, who sustained injuries during the incident, is receiving treatment at Kazaure General Hospital under security watch. The motive behind the attack is still unclear, leaving the community in shock and grief. Authorities have promised to investigate and ensure justice is served.
