THE NOTHERN STAR ONLINE revealed that Ramadan will begin on Wednesday, February 18, 2026; otherwise, it will start on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
The NSCIA, led by Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has made arrangements with the National Moon Sighting Committee and the National Space Research and Development Agency for official moon observation.
According to our reporter, the Muslims are advised to report credible sightings to designated traditional rulers, religious leaders, and NMSC members.
This year’s Ramadan coincides with the peak harvest season in northern states, potentially stabilizing food prices.
The NSCIA also expressed concerns over Islamophobic narratives and urged Muslims to remain resolute in their faith.
