President Bola Tinubu has approved huge retirement benefits for the recently sacked Service Chiefs, according to the new Harmonised Terms and Conditions of Service (HTACOS) 2024. thenorthernstar.ng gathered
Each retired Service Chief will go home with:
1 bulletproof SUV and 1 Prado Jeep (or equivalent) — to be maintained and replaced every four years by their respective Services.
$20,000 yearly medical allowance — totaling $60,000 for three years.
5 domestic workers, 9 guards, 3 drivers, a security aide, and free medical care both in Nigeria and abroad.
They will also keep their uniforms and personal firearms (to be returned after death).
Lieutenant Generals and other senior officers will also enjoy similar mouth-watering benefits — including SUVs, domestic staff, and up to $20,000 for medical expenses annually.
This comes after Tinubu’s latest shake-up in the Armed Forces, which saw new Service Chiefs appointed to replace their predecessors. The Senate is expected to begin screening the new appointees this week.
