The NNPP’s National Working Committee just pulled the plug on all of its executive committees in Kano – that’s the state, local‑government and ward levels – and said caretaker panels will be named to run things in the meantime.
The move was announced in a statement from national publicity secretary Bamofin Ladipo Johnson, who said the dissolution follows the party’s constitution and that further details will be released shortly.
The decision comes amid a swirl of speculation about possible defections, including rumors that Kano Governor Abba Yusuf might jump to the APC, which has only added to the internal tension.
The NWC thanked outgoing officials for their service and assured them the party appreciates their contributions.
