Farmer Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State has been without an Executive Council (EXCO) for 51 days, following his decision to dissolve the cabinet to assess mid-term performance and reposition his administration for optimal efficiency.
This move reflects Governor Bago’s commitment to achieving the goals outlined in his #NewNiger Agenda, prioritizing agriculture and food security. Although, a reliable revealed that Bago, a banker with several experiences noted diversion of funds which critics described as major move to insert competent hand to move the mercenaries of government through transparency and accountability.
However, Governor Bago has been actively promoting agricultural development, launching initiatives like the “Green Economy Initiative” and acquiring tractors, power tillers, and other equipment to support farmers.
He has also established a state-owned private company to manage tractors and make them available to farmers at affordable rates . Beside, 2027 is said to be around the corner, who are his Loyalist as he need powerful stakeholders to lift him and geared toward impacting on positive life.
