The Kaduna State Executive Committee (SEC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expelled its Deputy Chairman, Ahmed Tijani Mustapha, along with eight other party members, over allegations of gross misconduct.
The decision was reached during a recent meeting of the State Executive Committee in Kaduna.
According to the state leadership of the ADC, the expelled members, including the State Publicity Secretary, Idris Musa, were found guilty of various acts of misconduct such as insubordination, organizing unauthorized meetings aimed at undermining party leadership, falsifying documents, and extorting members.
The party stated that such offences were capable of damaging the image and integrity of the ADC.
Others affected by the expulsion include the State Vice Chairman (Zone 1), Sulaiman Abdullahi; State Treasurer, Gambo Sani; State Financial Secretary, Magaji Maiwada; and the State Legal Adviser, Danlami Dabai Musa.
Also listed were the State Coordinator of Persons With Disabilities (PWD), Saura Muhammed; State Deputy Youth Leader, Ibrahim Muhammed; and Mansur Gaga.
Speaking at a press conference after the meeting, the Kaduna State ADC Chairman, Elder Patrick Ambut, reaffirmed the party’s commitment to peace, discipline, and adherence to due process as stipulated in the ADC constitution.
Ambut condemned the actions of the Deputy Chairman, describing them as an abuse of office and a breach of party regulations that could create disharmony within the state and across the North-West zone.
“As law-abiding members of the ADC, we remain committed to upholding the party’s constitution and maintaining the integrity of its structure,” he said.
He emphasized that the Deputy Chairman had acted without constitutional authority, stressing that he had no power to convene meetings or issue directives on behalf of the party.
