The Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Samaila Muhammad Bagudo, has been released from bandits’ captivity after spending 9 days in their custody.
He was kidnapped on October 31, 2025, in his hometown of Bagudo, Kebbi State, shortly after observing evening prayers.
The Kebbi State Government confirmed his release, stating that he was rescued through a joint operation by security forces.
The Secretary to the State Government, Yakubu Tafida, expressed relief that the Deputy Speaker is in good health and high spirits, receiving necessary support and care.
The government commended the joint security forces for their efforts in ensuring the successful rescue operation and appealed to residents to continue supporting security agencies in maintaining peace and security in the state .
