Terrorists have abducted over 50 students from St. Mary’s School, a Catholic institution in Papiri community, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State. The attack occurred around 2 am, and security agencies, including police and military, have launched a rescue operation.
This incident follows the recent abduction of 25 schoolgirls from Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Kebbi State, highlighting the growing insecurity in Nigeria.
The Niger State Government has condemned the attack, blaming the school for ignoring security directives .
The federal government has directed security forces to rescue the abducted students, and President Bola Tinubu has expressed sadness over the incident.
The international community is also calling for action to address the rising insecurity in Nigeria .
