
Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso’s bid to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) hit a snag due to his excessive demands, including control of 20% of the party’s national structure and a vice-presidential slot.
THE NORTHERN STAR ONLINE NEWS, revealed that Kwankwaso also sought guarantees extending to the 2031 political cycle, which APC leaders deemed unrealistic and impractical.
The deal fell through as President Bola Tinubu’s administration questioned Kwankwaso’s claim to absolute control of Kano’s political machinery.
Meanwhile, APC sources revealed that Kwankwaso’s demands were a deal-breaker, and Tinubu has since recalibrated his strategy to consolidate ties with Kano Governor Abba Yusuf.
