Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has condemned the unruly behavior of some youths who forced their way into the Government House during his reception into the All Progressives Congress (APC). The governor described the incident as disturbing and unacceptable, warning that it could damage Kano’s reputation for peace and order ¹ ² ³.
The youths, reportedly accompanied by a political figure, were allegedly carrying dangerous weapons and abusing hard drugs. Some were also chanting slogans calling for the removal of the Deputy Governor. Governor Yusuf has urged party leaders, security agencies, traditional rulers, and community stakeholders to work together to curb such behavior and promote peace and unity in the state .
The governor’s condemnation comes amidst concerns about rising youth violence and drug abuse in Kano, with some organizations calling for a state of emergency to address the issue.
