At least 2 persons confirmed death, following poor management that characterized 61st Argungu Fishing Festival.
This followed a heavy agreement involving the over staying in one of event, the water diver competition where the three(3) contenders where allowed to over stay in the River, the remaining 10 came out quickly, but the officials due to poor management could not rich compromise of their stay. His Royal father Dr Samaila Mera CON, was later given the power to intervene and decided their faith of the winners.
Meanwhile, due to their over staying one person was confirmed death, the other two where immediately taken to Kebbi General Hospital for ICU intervention, the other one give up suddenly the following day. While the remaining Jafar still in critical condition with ICU General Hospital, Birnin-Kebbi to watch his situation.
The alleged doles out 5 million naira winner first prized triggered the three(3) contenders to force their self to over stay in competition that lead them to critical stage and coma at the Mata Fada event.
As at the time of filling this report, the three contenders were allowed to go with 3 million naira gift and a car as part of gift for the three. Now, two where confirmed death. The remaining contenders still critical at hospital, Birnin-Kebbi.
In a swift reaction, the Red Cross and Federal Fire Service representative told our reporter that staged that all the three contenders went through can only be decide by the committee alleging that both were their as rescue and safety missions nothing less than that.
Expert on Medical line who represent Kebbi at event was optimistic that the time management was not serious manage, according to him, the committee should be hold responsible for the critical period of determining winner saying” I don’t want to add any statements to that effect considering the fact that Emir Dr. Samaila Mera CON noted that their should be winner and they should allowed to do the right.
