
The Federal Government has donated N5 billion to victims of the devastating fire that ravaged Singer Market in Kano on Saturday, providing immediate relief to hundreds of affected traders.
Vice President Kashim Shettima announced the donation during a sympathy visit to the market, describing the incident as a national tragedy.
The fire, which destroyed over 1,000 shops and kiosks, has left many traders in distress.
Chairman of the Singer Market Traders Association, Junaid Zakari, expressed gratitude for the timely and generous gesture, assuring that the funds would be used judiciously to support affected traders and revive business activities.
The delegation, which included governors from Jigawa, Kebbi, and Imo states, offered prayers for the victims and prayed for prevention of future disasters.s
