The Department of State Services (DSS) has reopened the case of Abubakar Idris, aka Dadiyata, a lecturer at Federal University Dutsinma, who disappeared in 2019.
Dadiyata was abducted from his Kaduna home after criticizing former Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s administration. The DSS seized El-Rufai’s passport to prevent him from fleeing to Egypt, citing ongoing investigations into Dadiyata’s disappearance.
El-Rufai’s sons, Bello and Bashir, are also being probed for their alleged involvement.
El-Rufai had claimed he wasn’t aware of Dadiyata’s existence until he went missing, but social media posts by his sons suggest otherwise.
The DSS is examining these contradictions and investigating El-Rufai’s alleged links to Dadiyata’s disappearance.
