
Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has approved the early payment of March salaries to civil servants and pensioners ahead of Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
The payment, which will cover workers in the state civil service, local government councils, and staff of the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), as well as pensioners, will commence on Friday, March 13, 2026.
This move is part of the governor’s efforts to ensure that civil servants observe the Eid-el-Fitr celebration with ease.
Governor Aliyu has urged civil servants to reciprocate the gesture by remaining dedicated and committed to their duties, emphasizing the critical role they play in implementing his administration’s Nine-Point Smart Innovative Agenda.
The governor also announced the recruitment of 3,000 new workers to enhance productivity and improve service delivery across government institutions.
He encouraged experienced civil servants to mentor the new recruits, strengthening the state civil service.
