A 14-member committee set up by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to verify assets of the Rano rural school, now Federal Polytechnic Rano, has visited the Emir of Rano, Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Isa Umar, in his palace.
The committee, led by its chairman Prof. Shehu Usman Aliyu Rano, said the visit was to formally introduce itself and brief the Emir on its mandate to assess all assets belonging to the institution ahead of its handover to the Federal Government.
Prof. Aliyu added that the committee’s terms also include reviewing staff and student matters, advising the state government on the school, and modalities for expanding the campus as requested by the Federal Ministry of Education.
In his response, the Emir of Rano commended the state government for constituting the committee with competent members, expressed understanding of its assignment, and prayed for its success in the interest of societal development.
In a related development, the newly turbaned Village Head of Taure in Madachi District, Alhaji Salisu Sani Rano, praised Governor Yusuf for restoring the Rano Emirate under the leadership of Emir Muhammad Isa Umar, saying it has brought progress and benefits to the people of the emirate.
