The funeral of Hajiya Fatima Zarah (Hajiya Ummah), mother of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, will hold Sunday after prayers at Abuja’s Central Mosque.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other top officials are expected to attend.
A special plane has been sent to Cairo, Egypt, to transport the deceased and her relatives.

Former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai received condolences from President Bola Tinubu following his mother’s death, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai. El-Rufai was granted bail by ICPC to attend his mother’s funeral in Abuja, which was held at the Central Mosque.
MURIC praised the government’s decision, calling it a humane gesture. However, The President expressed his sympathies, stating that losing a mother is a painful experience.
The Northern Star online reports that El-Rufai faces money laundering charges and has been detained by ICPC since February. His mother’s funeral is scheduled for Sunday at Abuja’s Central Mosque.
