His death comes amid a turbulent period for Kano’s political class. In December 2025, the state also lost two serving members of the Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Aminu Sa’adu Ungogo and Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, who died within hours of each other. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and NNPP leader Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso were among dignitaries who paid their last respects during that period. 535c
