A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the final forfeiture of a Hawker 800XP private jet owned by Valiente Jet Limited, linked to Abdulsalam Mustapha Kachallah, an APC House of Representatives aspirant. The jet was allegedly purchased with proceeds from fraud and money laundering tied to the Maiduguri Emergency Power Project.
Kachallah, former Chairman of Borno State Rural Electrification Board, allegedly used his position to engage in illicit dealings, selling confidential bidding information to China Machinery Engineering Company. The EFCC traced $2.07m from the contracts to the purchase of the aircraft, with forged invoices created to disguise the transaction.
The court ruled that Valiente Jet Limited failed to prove the lawful origin of the funds, dismissing objections from Kachallah’s defense. The jet, valued at millions, will now be forfeited to the Federal Government.
Details of the news would be released soon ..
