Alhaji Ahmed Idris, the Walin Massaga, Nupe,who is also the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Kebbi State Governor has condemned the actions of some youths in Bida who allegedly attacked the convoy of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago on Sunday after the Local Government Elections in Niger State.
Idris made the condemnation in a statement issued to newsmen in Bida, Bida Local Government Area of Niger State.
The CPS described the conduct of the youths as barbaric, outdated, and uncalled for, adding that such behavior reflects a lack of proper home training and respect for leaders.
He then urged parents to take their responsibilities seriously by ensuring the proper upbringing of their children for the good of their families and society at large.
Idris, however, appealed to Governor Bago to accept the incident as an act of destiny and to forgive those behind what he described as a barbaric act.
He stated:“Your Excellency, you are a father, a brother, and a leader to all the people of Niger State. Therefore, there is a need to be lenient, compassionate, and merciful.”
The CPS further advised the youths to always promote peace, unity, and stability in order to build a stronger and more decent Niger State.
