President Tinubu hasn’t publicly ordered Minister Nyesom Wike to apologize to the naval officer yet.

However, human rights lawyer Femi Falana has urged Tinubu to compel Wike to apologize for using derogatory language against Lieutenant A.M. Yerima during a land dispute in Abuja. Falana emphasized that no minister has the right to insult a citizen, and Wike was lucky not to have been harmed .
The incident has sparked controversy, with some calling for Wike’s apology and others defending his actions as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) even demanded a national apology from Wike, stating his behavior was unacceptable .
It’s worth noting that both Wike and the naval officer were criticized for their actions, with Falana saying they both took the law into their own hands .
