Residents reverse to a”special prayers” to secures God intervention as govt failed?

The Kebbi State Government has appealed for fervent prayers from the public, particularly religious leaders of all faiths, following the unfortunate abduction of the Maga schoolgirls. While, some states has developed strategic and intelligence method to address the bandits ahead of school kidnapping and abduction.
Earlier, Governor Idris who is double as Kauran Gwandu was busy traveling abroad seeking foreign investors.
It will be recalled that bandits took advantage of informat and School Guard’s negligence to perpetrate their urgly act .
In a swift reaction, the state government use this medium, urged collective spiritual support for their safe release to their families.
The State Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Arch. Sani Aliyu, made this call last Friday at Government House, Birnin Kebbi, stressing that the moment calls for deep reflection and strong supplication from all segments of society.
He appealed to Ulama, learned men, scholars, Imams, Pastors, and all leaders of faith to return to the Creator in sincere prayers, noting that some challenges particularly those relating to security, are matters only God Almighty can resolve.
The Commissioner emphasised that although human beings may make efforts to address certain issues on their own, experience has shown that situations of this nature require divine intervention.
He said ‘ It is only Allah (Subḥānahū Wa-taʿālā) who can rescue the state from these predicaments and restore peace and comfort”.
He therefore urged scholars, clergy, and religious leaders to intensify fervent prayers for the safe return of the abducted students of Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, and for sustained peace and tranquility across Kebbi State.
Arch. Aliyu specifically appealed to Islamic scholars, Ulama, and Imams to engage in continuous Qunūt during and after the five daily prayers, particularly during the late hours of the night, seeking divine intervention for peace and stability.
He equally called on Christian clergymen to use every available opportunity during sermons in churches, synagogues, and other places of worship to pray for the state and the nation, asking God to restore peace and guide those in authority.
The Commissioner prayed for more wisdom, guidance, protection, and divine support for His Excellency, Governor, Comrade Dr.Nasir Idris as he continues to lead efforts aimed at securing communities and ensuring lasting peace in the State.
He also expressed appreciation, on behalf of the Government and people of Kebbi State, and particularly on behalf of the Governor, to all individuals, delegations, and organisations who have visited to commiserate with the state over the tragic incident.
Furthermore, he extended heartfelt sympathies to the families of the abducted students, the Zuru Emirate, and the staff and students of Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, where the unfortunate incident occurred.
Arch. Aliyu appealed to all residents to be their brothers’ keepers wherever they find themselves, reminding them that everyone will one day account for their actions before Allah. He urged citizens not to collaborate with bandits or criminal elements, but rather to protect their communities and provide timely information to security agencies when necessary.
Earlier, Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris had reiterated the need for intensive and sustained prayers during the visits of Vice President Kashim Shettima; the Progressive Governors’ Forum delegation led by Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State; the national and state leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress under Comrade Joe Ajaero; and the Minister of State for Defence, Muhammad Bello Matawalle.
The Governor also participated in Friday prayers in Argungu, where special supplications were offered during the commissioning of the renovated Jumuat Mosque for the safe release of the girls and for lasting peace and stability in Kebbi State and Nigeria.
