Turji’s confusion stems from the recent military airstrike that hit his hideout and wiped out several of his close allies—including his younger brother Dosso and key commanders like AMINU KANAWA AND KALLAMU.
In an audio message he said the attack came after a five‑month truce, leaving him feeling betrayed because he had agreed with the government to abandon banditry .
The loss of so many trusted fighters in a single raid has left him questioning the government’s commitment to peace, even as he claims he’s still ready to negotiate or fight if needed.
So, the “confusion” is really a mix of shock, anger, and a sense of betrayal after the military’s surprise operation killed a swath of his inner circle.
