The Minister of Information and National Orientation, *Mohammed Idris*, has suspended his aide *Sa’idu Enagi* after Enagi posted a Facebook write‑up titled “Malagi 2027,” in which he floated the idea that Idris might run for the 2027 Niger State governorship.
Idris, through his special assistant Rabiu Ibrahim, said the article was published without his knowledge or approval and does not reflect his views, and he ordered an immediate investigation and suspension of the aide.
The minister’s statement stressed that he’s focused on his duties at the information ministry and has no room for political distractions, emphasizing a cordial relationship with the incumbent governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago.
