The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is gearing up for the Kano State House of Assembly by-elections in Kano Municipal and Ungogo constituencies, following the passing of two lawmakers. Over 10 parties have expressed interest in participating, and INEC has assured a smooth, credible, and hitch-free election.
Resident Electoral Commissioner, Amb. Abdullahi Zango, urges eligible voters to turn out en masse, promising a level-playing field for contestants.
The by-elections aim to restore representation and strengthen grassroots democracy in Kano State.
The bye- election were necessitated by the demise of the two lawmakers representing the Constituencies, creating vacancies in the stay legislatures.
