Magarau village in Sokoto State, Nigeria, has been abandoned due to repeated attacks by armed bandits loyal to Bello Turji.
The violence has forced the entire community to flee, leaving behind ruins and a lingering atmosphere of fear.
The attacks are part of a larger security crisis in Nigeria, with bandits and jihadist groups terrorizing communities, killing hundreds and displacing thousands.
In recent attacks, over 162 people were killed in Kwara State, and 21 people were killed in Katsina State.
The Nigerian government has deployed troops to the affected areas and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.
However, some argue that more needs to be done to address the root causes of the violence and provide support to displaced communities.

In response to the attack, the Sokoto State Government has strengthened collaboration with security agencies, distributing vehicles and motorcycles to boost mobility and rapid response.
The government has also visited Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps, distributing food, clothing, and cash relief to affected households.
