Vice President Kashim Shettima has revealed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has recovered assets worth over ₦500 billion and secured more than 7,000 convictions in the past two years under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Shettima attributed this success to the government’s policy of non-interference in the operations of anti-graft agencies, allowing them to work independently and effectively.
The recovered assets are being used to fund critical social investment programs, including the Students’ Loan Scheme and Consumer Credit Schemes, aimed at empowering ordinary Nigerians.
Shettima emphasized that the administration is committed to upholding the rule of law and maintaining a clear separation of powers, ensuring that no individual or group is shielded from investigation or prosecution.
Shettima also urged judges and justices to demonstrate patriotism and integrity in their duties, stressing that corruption affects every part of society.
He called for collective commitment among all arms of government to strengthen the fight against corruption.
