Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, on Today, 17th February 2026, stormed the wedding Fatiha of Mahmud Saidu Nasamu, son of former Kebbi State Governor, Saidu Usman Dakingari.
The solemn ceremony took place at the Sultan Bello Mosque, Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna State.
The wedding was officiated by Imams of the mosque, Dr. Suleiman Muhammad, who confirmed that a dowry of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (₦500,000) was duly paid by the groom family.
Governor Nasir Idris stood in as a father to the groom, Mahmud Usman Saidu, while Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Barden Yauri represented the bride, Fauziyah Shehu Warrah.
In his remarks, shortly after the wedding ceremony, Governor Idris advised the couple to uphold patience, understanding, and mutual respect in their marital journey.
He prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) bless their union and grant them the grace to serve one another faithfully and live in harmony.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the groom’s father, Ambassador-designate Saidu Usman Nasamu; the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu; Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Sadik Abubakar; Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Bello A. Kaoje; Hon. Garba Rabiu Kamba (Arewa/Dandi Federal Constituency); Secretary to the State Government, Yakubu Bala Tafida; Member of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Faruku Maisudan; Commissioner of Finance, Abubakar Muhammad; Commissioner for Commerce, Usman Abubakar Ladan; Accountant General, Bello Ibrahim Nahaliku; Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment, Ibrahim Jombali; and Special Adviser on Revenue, Muhammadu Danatto.
Other notable personalities included the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Office, Nasir Kigo; Permanent Secretary, Lands and Housing, Ahmad Yarima; Rtd. General Bello Sarkin Yaki; Khadi Bawa Bello; Lauwali Saidu Nasamu; Kebbi State PDP Chairman, Usman Bello Suru; and the Lamidon Dakingari, Alhaji Jafaru Haliru, among others.
