At least 15 residents have been abducted and one person killed following coordinated bandit attacks in parts of Katsina State.
The incidents occurred in Malumfashi Local Government Area, where armed men launched raids on multiple communities within hours.
According to local reports, the attackers first stormed Unguwar Dambu in the Gora Dan Saka district, abducting no fewer than 15 people during the invasion.
Hours later, the gunmen reportedly advanced to Gora community, where they ambushed residents at about 3 a.m.
During the second attack, two persons were shot, with one later confirmed dead from injuries sustained.
In a tragic turn, a pregnant woman was also reported to have died after collapsing from shock upon hearing that bandits had entered the area.
The attacks have renewed concerns over persistent insecurity in northwest Nigeria, where communities continue to face frequent raids, kidnappings, and killings.
As of the time of filing this report, there was no official statement from security agencies regarding the incident.
Residents and observers have continued to question how long rural communities will remain vulnerable without decisive and lasting security interventions.
