Popular social media activist, Martins Vincent Otse known as VeryDarkMan has alleged that he received a warning call advising him against publicly announcing his return to Nigeria or travelling back with his phone over fears of a possible arrest.
The activist, who shared the claim while in China, said the anonymous caller warned him that certain individuals allegedly believe he is being sponsored to criticise the government.
VeryDarkMan, popularly known as VDM, dismissed the alleged intimidation and went on to criticise the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I guess it’s time to show Nigerians and the world why Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not fit to run in 2027. APC has ruined Nigeria and Nigerians. Tinubu getting re-elected in 2027 will be the end of Nigeria,” he stated.
The outspoken activist did not disclose the identity of the caller or provide evidence of the alleged threat, but his remarks quickly sparked reactions across social media platforms, with supporters and critics debating his claims.
The statement comes at a time when Tinubu continues to secure victories in ongoing APC presidential primary exercises in several states, including Lagos, Rivers and Gombe, strengthening his influence within the ruling party ahead of the 2027 elections.
Political observers believe the comments by VeryDarkMan may further fuel online political tensions between supporters of the APC and opposition voices, especially among young Nigerians who remain vocal about the country’s economic and political direction.
The activist has in recent years become known for controversial commentaries on governance, corruption, entertainment and social issues, often generating heated reactions online
