A reliable source confirmed to Katsina Times newspaper that Kachalla Muhammadu, leader of some bandits allegedly holding retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, stated in a voice message that the General is indeed in their custody at their hideout.
The source said that in the voice message, Kachalla Muhammadu confirmed that General Rabe is in good health where they are holding him.
According to him, they have been getting information on General Rabe’s movements and the times he leaves his house, right from Kaduna city.
Kachalla Muhammadu stated that they had initially planned to abduct the General near the Musawa junction, where the road splits into two — one leading to Musawa, the other to Gidan Mutum Daya. He said they suspected General Rabe would take the Gidan Mutum Daya route.
However, according to him, when General Rabe reached the junction, he chose the Musawa–Matazu road. From there, Kachalla said, he and his associates intercepted him on the road and successfully captured him.
This new account attributed to Kachalla Muhammadu has further fueled allegations that there is a complex conspiracy that aided the abduction of General Rabe Abubakar, especially given the claim that his movements had been tracked from Kaduna for some time.
In additional information obtained by Katsina Times, Kachalla Muhammadu is said to be from the Nasarawar Yamma area, under Karaduwa district, north of Sayaya junction. The area is also called Sabon Sara.
