Today we woke up to a terrible story about what happened between Saleem Goje and his wife, who betrayed his trust.
They had a disagreement, and the wife went on to leak Saleem’s private details about his relationship with a famous Hausa film actress. The details were unpleasant to hear, unpleasant to see, and unpleasant to read.
While that was happening, Saleem Goje’s mother-in-law also leaked the wife’s secrets. She said what the wife did happened before their marriage and was catching up with her. She also claimed the wife drinks alcohol and doesn’t even pray.
It was said that Saleem Goje’s wife was not raised with proper Hausa-Fulani upbringing. She was reportedly born and raised in America and doesn’t even speak Hausa properly.
Saleem gathered his money, and instead of settling down and choosing a well-mannered woman, he went and picked her. He even went around posting pictures of his wife on social media. Now look, she has torn his life apart.
He also has his own fault. When Saleem was posting his wife’s pictures, I saw a video of a woman advising and warning him to stop. She told him there would be consequences for doing that in the future. But because he had money, he ignored the advice.
I keep remembering what the late Sheikh Albani Zaria said: “Be careful with marrying ‘women of this world.’” A man’s biggest mistake in life is marrying a worldly woman who has no cultural and religious upbringing, and who has no shame.
In life, there is no relationship as intimate as that between husband and wife. Any person who, when you have a disagreement, goes on to expose your ugly secrets — that person has reached the level of an animal and a betrayer of trust.
