The All Progressives Congress (APC) has replaced Samaila Audu Sulaiman, a close ally of Governor Uba Sani, with Abdulazeez Kaka, a relative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, as its gubernatorial candidate in Kaduna State.
The change came after APC submitted its final list of candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), sparking surprise and speculation within the party. Sulaiman, who was seen as the governor’s preferred candidate, had initially won the party’s primary election.
Kaka, who joined the race late, was reportedly close to Seyi Tinubu, leading to speculation about the influence behind the switch. Attempts to reach Sulaiman for comment were unsuccessful, leaving many wondering about the implications for Kaduna State’s politics
