Popular Kannywood actor Musa Mai Sana’a found himself at the center of controversy in Katsina State after what was meant to be an engagement visit turned into a political campaign for President Bola Tinubu.
According to reports, the well-known Hausa film star climbed the archway at the entrance to Katsina town and began promoting support for the president.
Some youths gathered around and demanded that he come down, saying they did not want the campaign in their area.
Tensions rose as the group became hostile, with some reportedly threatening to attack him. The situation escalated until police officers arrived and managed to extract the actor safely.
Witnesses said the intervention prevented what could have turned violent. Videos of the incident circulated online, sparking debate about political expression, celebrity influence, and public tolerance during campaign season.
In response to the backlash, commentators urged calm, reminding the public that democracy is not a religion. “It’s all just worldly noise,” one statement read.
“Everyone has the right to campaign for the candidate they want.” The message emphasized that harassing Musa Mai Sana’a had no justification under either religious law or Nigerian law.
The appeal ended with a call for peaceful political engagement: if citizens believe a democratic leader has failed them, the proper response is at the ballot box. “Punish him with your voter card on election day, if God spares us to reach that day,” the statement said. “To each his own. Let everyone fear God.” Effort to rich the actor, Sani prove abortive.
