Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wammakko of Sokoto State has congratulated former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd.), on the occasion of his 84th birthday, describing him as a statesman whose contributions to Nigeria remain significant.
Wammakko, in his congratulatory message, joined other Nigerians in celebrating the former military leader’s life of service, leadership and dedication to the country. He acknowledged Babangida’s extensive experience and the role he has continued to play in national discourse.
According to Wammakko, IBB’s years of experience in leadership have made him an important reference point in conversations about national unity, peace and development. He noted that the former military president’s understanding of Nigeria’s political and social dynamics remains valuable to present and future generations.
The senator prayed for General Babangida to be blessed with continued good health, strength and wisdom as he marks the milestone birthday. He also wished the former military president many more years in which to contribute to the progress, unity and stability of Nigeria.
Wammakko urged Nigerians to continue to recognise and appreciate the contributions of elder statesmen such as Babangida, particularly their experience and commitment to national development.
