The Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Saidu Yahaya, has reportedly resigned his appointment.
The development was reported on Tuesday, with sources saying Yahaya had submitted his resignation from the position.
However, the circumstances surrounding his reported resignation had not been officially made public as of the time of filing this report.
According to reports, the resignation allegedly followed mounting pressure from the Kano State Government over concerns about Yahaya’s political loyalty and his perceived closeness to former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Yahaya was appointed Chairman of the PCACC in August 2025, following the expiration of the tenure of the commission’s former chairman, Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado.
His appointment was subsequently approved by the Kano State House of Assembly for a five-year tenure, placing him at the head of the state’s principal public complaints and anti-corruption agency.
Under Yahaya, the commission continued activities aimed at strengthening accountability and anti-corruption measures in the state, including collaboration with religious leaders and other institutions.
The PCACC had also been involved in the implementation of the Kano State Anti-Corruption Strategy, working with partners to promote transparency, accountability and integrity in public administration.
The reported resignation comes amid significant political realignments in Kano, particularly following Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s defection from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Further details on whether the resignation has been formally accepted, as well as who may succeed Yahaya as chairman of the commission, are expected to emerge.
