Secret information from a source, who requested anonymity, revealed that the former Emir of Kano, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, held a secret meeting with former Governor of the State, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, ahead of the forthcoming 2027 elections.
It was rumoured that their meeting was not unconnected to the current political situation, the Kano emirate crisis, and the search for a solution by the former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido, regarding the future of his throne.
It was also alleged that after that secret meeting, the former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, was heard insisting that Gov. Abba K. Yusuf must pay compensation to traders whose shops his government demolished at the Eid Ground in Kofar Mata.
The situation is one that political analysts view as this insistence by the former Emir Sanusi Lamido as an attempt to cause conflict for the government of Abba Kabir Yusuf ahead of, during, and after the election, and also to incite the people of Kano State to rebel against Abba’s government before the 2027 election and on election day.
