The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Jigawa State has announced the 12-month suspension of Hon. Aliyu Muhammad Tukar Gantsa, a party leader in Buji Local Government Area, over alleged anti-party activities.
The suspension, which runs from 19 October 2026 to 19 October 2027, was announced at a press conference on Monday.
According to party leaders, the decision was first approved by the Ward Executive Committee on 5 October and later ratified by the Local Government Working Committee on 16 October, in line with the party’s constitution.
The leaders said the disciplinary action was intended to uphold party rules, strengthen unity and maintain discipline as the ADC prepares for the 2027 general elections.
They urged party members in Buji and across Jigawa State to remain calm, follow the party’s procedures and avoid actions that could cause division.
Party officials stressed that the suspension followed due process at both the ward and local government levels before it was made public.
The ADC in Jigawa said the move is part of efforts to reposition the party and ensure all members respect its constitution and leadership structures.
The party also warned that any member found engaging in anti-party activities would face similar disciplinary measures, regardless of their position.
The suspension is based on allegations of anti-party activities; the party’s announcement does not, by itself, establish that the allegations are proven.
