APC stalwart, Hon. Mustapha Zukogitook to Facebook chart to called on Governor Uba Sani’s cabinet, saying six commissioners – _Local Government Areas, Mamman Lagos, Health, Sports Development, Environment_ and a couple of others – are hardly seen with party members. He warned that the recent wave of defections to the PDP and ADC is “worrisome and unfortunate” and urged the governor to hold an urgent stakeholders’ meeting before things get out of hand.
On the governor’s side, Uba Sani is juggling a few heavyweight issues:
– *Banditry* – the state has been hit hard, and the administration is under pressure to restore security ¹.
– *Defections* – a number of lawmakers have switched to the APC, which the governor frames as a sign of inclusive governance, while opposition figures point to internal party strain .
– *El‑Rufai controversy* – the former governor was accused of gifting ₦1 billion to a bandit group, a claim Uba Sani has denied and threatened legal action over his former boss.
– *Alliance with Senator Shehu Sani* – the two have teamed up against El‑Rufai, a move that some see as bolstering the governor’s position, while others argue it’s creating a setback for the APC in Kaduna .
,Zukogi’s criticism is part of a broader tug‑of‑war within the Kaduna APC, where the governor is trying to balance security challenges, internal party loyalty, and external political attacks.
The call for a swift stakeholders’ meeting could be a chance to iron out those tensions before they spill over further.
