The deputy governor of Kano, *Aminu Abdulsalam*, was reportedly on the brim of impeachment as part of a political deal tied to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s impending switch from the NNPP to the APC.
A reliable sources revealed to our reporter saying the governor’s move is being negotiated with top APC figures, and one of the conditions is to remove Abdulsalam and install the APC’s 2023 deputy‑governorship candidate, *Murtala Sule‑Garo*, in his place.
Murtal Sule-Garo was former, Commissioner for Local Government Area of Kano during Ganduje and also, serve as Deputy to Gawuna APC aspirant at the last election.
The plan also lines up the APC’s 2023 governorship flag‑bearer, *Nasiru Gawuna*, for the Kano Central Senate seat in 2027.
All of this is happening while Yusuf is trying to rally enough support for the APC’s February congresses, and it’s expected to end his long‑standing alliance with NNPP mentor Rabiu Kwankwaso.
All effort to speak with DG media to Governor Abbah Kabiru after on the development as his phone rang several and didn’t pick.
