Kano State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children, and Persons with Special Needs, Hajiya Amina Sani (Amina HOD), has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This move is seen as a boost to the APC’s momentum in Kano, following Governor Abba Yusuf’s defection to the party.
Amina HOD’s decision to join APC is reportedly driven by her alignment with the “Kano First” ideology, aiming to drive the state’s development and promote peaceful coexistence.
This defection comes after several other high-profile defections, including 22 state Assembly members, eight National Assembly members, and 44 local government chairmen, all joining the APC to reinforce loyalty to Governor Abba Yusuf’s administration.
As Commissioner, Amina HOD has been instrumental in promoting women’s empowerment and supporting vulnerable groups.
She previously pledged to implement the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Law in Kano State and establish a commission for persons with disabilities.
