Senator Bala Na’Allah, a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has warned that recent defections to the party do not guarantee electoral success in the 2027 general elections. Na’Allah emphasized that performance and public trust are crucial factors that will determine the party’s success, rather than just defections.
He stated that the APC must work to convince Nigerians that it is genuinely working to secure a better future for the country.
Na’Allah also noted that many of those defecting to the APC are influential figures with strong structures and followership in their states, but this does not automatically translate to electoral victory.
The senator’s comments come amid a wave of defections from opposition parties to the APC, including several state governors.
However, analysts warn that the APC’s advantage is not guaranteed, citing economic hardship, regional concerns, and unpredictable voters.
