
Lakurawa militants have indeed attacked villages in Arewa Local Government Area of Kebbi State, killing at least 34 people.
The attack occurred on Wednesday, with reports indicating that the militants targeted several villages, including Mamunu, Awasaka, Tungan Tsoho, Makangara, Kanzo, Gorun Naidal, and Dan Mai Ago. The attackers also stole cattle and destroyed property.
The Lakurawa group, believed to be an Islamist militant organization, has been linked to several attacks in northwestern Nigeria, particularly in Kebbi and Sokoto states.
The group’s activities have raised concerns about the growing insecurity in the region.
Security forces have been deployed to the area to track down the attackers and provide support to affected communities. The attack is coming shortly after President Ahmed Bola Tinubu attended 2 days working visit to commission projects
It’s included Secretariat, Park and the Argungu Fishing Festival that has been suspended for six years. He arrived under tight security beefed in all the event centres.
