The rift between Emir Sanusi and Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf of Kano State has sparked heated debate, with their once-close friendship reportedly turning sour.
When Abba was in NNPP, the two were best of friends, but their relationship allegedly deteriorated after Abba defected to APC and Kwankwaso ignored him.
Sanusi is seen as a winner backed by Kwankwaso, triggering a face-off that led Abba to skip a special Iftar organized by Emir Sanusi and the Durbar, a significant event for the Emir .
This comes after the 14th Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero, announced plans to hold his own event during Sallah, further complicating the situation.
The Governor’s absence from Emir Sanusi’s events has fueled speculation about his stance on the ongoing emirship dispute.
