Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has said that even with Wike, Adeleke, Yari and other stakeholders, the APC cannot hide the hardship and insecurity facing Nigerians.
Atiku, now presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), described the expanded APC presidential campaign council as a “confession of fear” by President Bola Tinubu.
The statement was issued on Wednesday by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council.
He said only a man afraid of his record would think he could bury it under hundreds of names, adding that Tinubu can gather every governor and defector but cannot erase hunger in homes.
According to him, the inclusion of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun, Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra and former Zamfara Governor Abdulaziz Yari as DG cannot stop hardship and insecurity.
Atiku accused Tinubu of prioritising political alliances over the economic hardship, killings, and kidnappings, noting that families of victims are waiting for answers, not another campaign list.
He said Tinubu has room for an army of ministers and a stadium full of campaign officials, but no room in his plans for Nigerians crushed by cost of living.
He also faulted the use of the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa for the inauguration of the APC council, calling it a gross breach of public trust and abuse of office.
