Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, mother of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has passed away at the age of 100 in Cairo, Egypt, where she was receiving medical treatment.
The news was announced by her grandson, Bello El-Rufai, who expressed gratitude for her life and requested prayers for her soul.
Hajiya Umma’s death comes at a time when Nasir El-Rufai is facing trials in different courts following charges against him by anti-graft agencies in Nigeria.
The family has not yet announced burial arrangements, which are expected to follow Islamic rites.
